JJ is safely off to Boy Scout camp and Maddi is safely home from Girl Scout camp. She’s been sharing her many, learned songs with us. The big project yesterday was to find Kateri’s SSN card. I have a HUGE plastic tub with a lid that I scoop all the undone paperwork into when it shouldn’t be on display. This happens more often than I would like. So, it was time to dump the incredibly large container out and sift through and find the magic envelope with the children’s SSN cards. I went through everything (and found a few important missing items) and they weren’t there. So, I called Clay to ask how to get into our safe (big, old, lumbering thing in the garage). I then went to work becoming a safe-cracker. I should have taken pictures because it was a funny site. Long frustrating story made short...... opened the safe and still no papers. I discovered the reason I have the HUGE tub is because there are, in fact, no important papers in the safe. That will change soon! To make things simpler, I decided we do not need Kateri’s SSN card and anyone asking for it is trying to commit identity theft! Anyway, the nice surprise was that after evening Mass, I went to one of my neighbor’s houses to knock on the door to apologize for my wild-haired and head-strong 2 year old. Apparently when I was at Mass and left Luke-Xavier and Gabi with Arianna, she took the little ones for a walk and Gabi got it into her head to stop at her friend’s house. Her friend was in the bath. This did not stop Gabi! The poor neighbor finally had to take her daughter out of the bath, dry her off, dress her and then coax my screaming daughter out of her home and down the street to our house. Poor Arianna was trying to get the baby home and call me to figure out what to do. Ok, Gabi got home and the door got locked. So, I figured I better go say something to keep relations good between the neighbor and my family. She was SO SWEET! Thank you, Dear Lord!!!!!!! When I got back to my house, an unfamiliar car pulled up and out stepped Clay! Hooray! He wasn’t supposed to get home until after today. It was a VERY nice surprise! And I was so happy to look decent, having just come from church. :-)
