A Little Tribute to Moka

Our second bullmastiff and 3rd dog, Moka, had to be put down today. Since Ranger (our boxer) was put down earlier this year, she has steadily declined. She stopped eating all together a few days ago and had lost 30lbs. So, today Clay and a couple of the kids took her to the Humane Society. The kids are very sad. We have not had a good dog year! A good friend of ours gave us a rescue dog named Lilly about a month ago. We had hoped that Lilly would pep Moka up and that she would return to her youthful ways. Not so. Luckily we still have Lilly, who has fit into the family very nicely. She lets the kids play with her and Luke-Xavier can “pet” her and she just loves it. It’s amazing how attached to a pet you can get, even when it’s not the first and you already have a house full of kiddos. Each pet truly has it’s own personality and enhances the family in some way. I will miss the sense of protection I got from having Moka around! Hopefully Lilly will step up and make us all feel secure.
