Since I didn’t get the chance to write yesterday, I thought I would include it in today’s blog. Yesterday was the last day of volleyball for Mariah (so glad!). I took the kids to this great library and we got there a little before it opened. There’s a big duck pond there. For those who have been to Meadow Vista, it’s much larger than that one and those of you who have been to Frazier Park, it’s about twice the size of that one. Anyway, we had lunch there and walked around and spotted turtles, ducks, geese and a couple of hawks in the trees above us. It was great! The library was open when we were done and the kids really enjoyed it. It has been 8 or more months since I have taken the kids to the library. You may be thinking, “wait a minute! Does this woman know that the library is FREE and she has a million kids”? Well, the library might be free for most people, but it costs us plenty each summer! I always set up a “library” box for the checked out items, but it NEVER works out as planned! The final straw came last December when I had to fork over $300 for missing items, late fees and the collections fees. Yup, they will send your account to collections and not even tell you. Anyway, I am getting off track! Bottom line, it had been awhile because, frankly, it’s cheaper to go to Borders and buy the items. But it was a really nice library with a great kids’ area and we got to bring home movies and books. The kids have been rediscovering videos and DVDs since we turned off the cable. Max and Tristan really like Disney’s version of Robin Hood. The other day, Max was telling me all about the story and how he is one of the characters that carries an ax and what character Tristan is. I decided to play along and said, “ I am Maid Marian”. He looks at me, caresses my face with his little hand and says, “no, Mama, you are Lady Cluck”. Enough said!
