Catching up
I’m trying to make up for not writing in the last few days by putting up several new things tonight. Things that have happened over the last few days; Maddi and Anna left for a trip to both sets of grandparents. Luke-Xavier pulled the curling iron down on his forehead. Gabi found a snail that she thought should be a pet. Auntie Maggie came to San Diego to try out for American Idol. JJ got lots of badges at a Boy Scouts award ceremony. Mr. Mike is back in the hospital with meningitis again (it may have never actually left). Tristan had soccer practice and a flute lesson. We had visitors at our house (doesn’t usually happen unless planned out, but was very nice). Our pool had to be drained and I’m still scratching my head trying to find the best solution to keeping it clean. I suppose I need chemicals but am nervous since it’s not a huge pool and I don’t want to put too much of something in. Obviously I will need to research this and ask questions, but, REALLY, do I need this?! Don’t worry, I’ll get it done so that the kids can enjoy the pool again, but, UGH! And the most exciting thing (for me anyway) is that I have been invited to speak on a radio program. It will be pre-taped and is still awaiting approval, but I am VERY excited about the prospect of speaking! I will let you know if it all works out and the when of it all as it draws nearer. With Kateri moving onto her next phase of life, I have felt compelled to move forward also, and am hoping that sharing my story in this way will be a positive experience. I hope that the things I’ve learned on this journey from teen mom to mom of many will be helpful to others. Clay and I have beat the odds by staying together and building a family and life together and I want to help young woman see that even if they have made a wrong decision at a particular time in their life, that there can still be a light at the end of the tunnel. Wish me luck! Good night~
